SNOMED CT Support
Integration of Bahmni with SNOMED CT & Snowstorm Server over FHIR
Bahmni allows Clinicians, Researchers & Hospital Administrators to use SNOMED CT as a reference terminology. They can use SNOMED CT in their health facilities to record diagnosis & other clinical data, as well as for reporting and Clinical Decision Support (CDS) use-cases. Users can search and save diagnoses, receive alerts when a drug-diagnosis interaction is contraindicated, generate diagnosis reports, and create forms. With the integration of SNOMED CT, patient responses can be standardized and therefore more easily exchanged with other electronic health records.
Bahmni, in partnership with SNOMED International, has also integrated opensource Snowstorm Terminology Server over FHIR. This allows for:
Directly recording patient clinical data with SNOMED CT terms.
CDSS alerts while prescribing drugs with info/warning/critical severity (using a 3rd party CDSS service integrated over FHIR) for a number of use-cases.
Designing Forms with SNOMED CT coded fields for reporting purposes.
Aggregate reports leveraging the parent-child ontology of SNOMED CT terms along with WHO ICD-10 mappings.
Export of Data in FHIR format with SNOMED CT coded terms for including in Snolytical (SNOMED Analytics tool), etc for research purposes.
